Walking to my friend's car from church one day, he showed me to the trunk where a slightly beat-up guitar lay. This guitar had seemingly rusted strings and a large hole in one side. My friend and I thought we could fix it. The next day, we meet at my house to patch up the hole. Everything goes as planned until the sanding and the finish. The piece didn't fit in exactly, so I couldn't sand it so that it was flat, and the finish didn't soak in very well, besides the fact that I made a huge mess. In the end, it looked "interesting" yet cool in it's own "special" way. I gave it back to my friend and he thought it looked great because he didn't expect much (paper thin wood attached by gorilla glue and not sanded or finished). It was fun at least and NO ONE GOT HURT(or at least not too badly...).
Life is going good with the moving situation. We have our house on the market, had a couple showings, but no offers yet. The families that don't want us to move seem to be plotting against us. Leaving friends behind will be painful, but I'll make friends out west. The end of the school year is drawing nearer and marking our last days in the Land of Lincoln.

i would like to say that i am one of those families plotting against you. i am going to steal the sign and create a computer virus that will eat any pages on the internet related to the sale of your house. better watch out or else your blog might be one of them!
